A school clinic cannot survive without a refrigerator/freezer combination. Many students receive medications at school to keep them healthy and many medications require refrigeration. The use of frozen ice packs in the clinic is a daily need by my students who come to the clinic after sustaining injuries while on the playground or in the classroom. A refrigerator with freezer is also crucial to keep snacks that are not shelf stable for students who may have missed a meal and have a stomachache because of it. By donating to our project, you will ensure our school has the tools needed to properly care for sick and injured students which will promote their health and well being thus ensuring they will be well enough to stay in school. When students are injured, the clinic is only able to administer non-pharmacologic methods of pain relief which primarily come in the form of an ice pack. For some students, receiving much needed medications while they are at school helps them to stay healthy or get over an illness and be able to remain at school, so they can obtain the education they deserve. Our students deserve the best, they have overcome so much and we are obligated to keep them healthy and well so they can continue to thrive in their education!
