I am choosing the Scholastic Magazine as a wonderful primary source for my students. We plan to read articles, analyze them for content, and further our education in several ways. We will increase our vocabulary by defining words that are unknown to us, thus increasing our reading abilities and scores. It is my hope that I will be able to use this magazine to help them learn how to form opinions on current events for themselves in this era of "fake news" and social media sound bites. These magazine articles will be used for cross curriculum activities and assignments, and I plan to share with my grade level counterparts so that their students may benefit as well.
