The exercise scooter boards, hop-along balls, and balance bands will continue to encourage students to be balanced learners as they see school as a place to grow intellectually, socially, and physically. Planking, crunches, and push ups may be great exercises for older students but kindergarteners find scooter boards, hop-along balls, and balance bands much more engaging! The scooter boards and hop-along balls develop muscles, coordination, and collaboration as students take turns maneuvering across the blacktop. Balance Bands require students to work as a collaborative team to maneuver a ball down the band. Having sturdy, well made materials for the students to use encourages students to feel valued and take pride in their learning environment, whether that be indoors or out. This equipment is physically sized just right for kindergarteners. Incorporating physical activity into the school day will help the students to better focus on their academic learning. My students will be excited to see this new exercise equipment added to their choice of outdoor activities!
