In our classroom, we have students with many different needs. Some need the ability to spread out away from their peers, while others need to constantly be on the move around the room. The different areas will allow the students to feel they have more choice during their day and help them to stay focused and motivated during work time. It will allow the "movers" to find a spot where they can stand or rock and the others to sit happily on the carpet or stools. The flex seating will allow each student to choose their optimal work environment. The ball seating will allow movement while keeping the student centered on the task at hand. The ability to have all these different areas open for students makes the classroom feel like a home away from home. We all know that we do our best work when we are in a comfortable place. This will let my students create the best work they have inside them.
