At my school, the poverty is high and for the most part the parental involvement in the traditional sense is low. With that being said, I have some of the most hardworking, caring, and creative students. The majority of my students still come to school with a light in their eye. They are interested in learning and doing well. They are able to think outside the box and come up with fun and inventive pictures. My students love to read and write! Every day they amaze me with the things they notice and see. However, with all that good there is some bad. My students are terribly behind in the eyes of the district. Many of my students are below grade level despite the fact they try really hard. Some students are reading on a kindergarten level and have trouble forming words. My students have the ability to do amazing things. They just need people who see the good and help grow it.
