Welcome to our TreK through TK! Ours is a very diverse classroom of "young fives" who have just begun their academic endeavors in transitional kindergarten. As we learn how to become learners, we also learn how to be members of a collaborative community. These children are highly capable and enthusiastic young scholars--all of whom receive free lunch and 75% of whom are adding English to their home language. As far as their teacher goes--I've just returned to the classroom after many years on the sidelines teaching and supervising credential students (traded in my 24-year old grad students for 25 four-year olds). Although I have collected many print resources throughout the years, I'm essentially starting from scratch in gathering valuable resources to support hands-on learning and social and emotional development that is nurtured through cooperative play experiences.
