Our school provides 100 percent free lunch to our students. I find that a warm pot of beans, rice, oatmeal or soup really improves our kids focus by providing nourishment and warmth midmorning, when lunch is still 2 hours away. This project includes an Instant Pot which can turn dried pinto beans into a delicious snack in just an hour. It also includes dry grains such as steel cut oats, rice and bouillon for a soup base and storage containers. Providing a warm snack, at least once a week, will really help my class focus on learning. It also surrounds my students with a layer of loving care during a long day of academic and social expectations.
