My students have Special needs and they love to use computers, but we do not have enough computers for each student to use . Also the room I am in is very small, not much bigger than a closet. Chromebooks are small and will be a great resource for the students in my room to learn the skills they need.
The majority of my students are ELL, so English is their second language yet they are still expected to perform at the national average on their state tests. I want to make sure that every resource that they need is available for them to do that or at least try to do that.
Utilizing Chromebooks and other technologies on a daily basis will allow me to meet each individual student's needs (grades 1-5) by differentiating instruction.
I find technology helps engage my students more effectively in the learning process. In addition to math skills that they will be learning, they will also be improving their digital literacy skills. This is essential because when they leave me to become 6th graders, the majority of their assessments and communication with their teachers is online. I not only want to teach them math, I want them to continue to love learning using technology.
