My reading groups are safe and caring communities of learners where all students assume responsibility for their learning. My school is centrally located commercially in the heart of our city. We have a diverse student population. Economically 89.2% of our students qualify for free lunch and/or reduced price lunch for the 2016-2017 school year. Our school culture supports active student engagement and understands the significant impact on student achievement that solid engagement strategies yield. My students love to learn and need hands-on materials and resources to keep them engaged and make learning easily accessible to all of my students.
