My students are predominately second language learners who come from low socio economic families. Our school serves about 550 children in grades Kindergarten through fifth. Even though we are located in the heart of Silicon Valley, many of my students are academically behind one year, and 98% are on free or reduced lunch. My students are eager to learn in a safe and nurturing environment where they can become literate and help educate their family at home. Education is truly their passport to the future.
