Lois P. Rockwell is a Prekindergarten through Grade 5 school located in Damascus, Maryland in Montgomery County Public Schools. We have about 550 students enrolled each year! Our school garden is a wonderful space that is enclosed and safe for classroom teachers to bring students to extend learning outdoors. We have planting beds that are maintained by parent volunteers and our garden club students! This year, my prek class has enjoyed gardening and learning in this space! We are hoping to add items to the school garden to encourage all classes at Rockwell to step outside for learning! The space is open and welcoming for classes to hold whole group lessons while the requested items would be beneficial for small group art and sensory experiences for all!
