My ASL students are amazing! The majority of my students qualify for state assistance but you would not know it by looking at their faces. They are proud and hard-working but in need of constant reminder that they are worth something. I believe they are VERY capable but they think their test scores and our school grade reflect on their integrity and dignity. If they do poorly on a test, they take it as a personal attack on their character. The teachers at my school are in the process of reminding our students how much they have to offer our world and that their voices are important!
