The use of high interest texts within a classroom is a powerful tool. A great novel has a great impact on student engagement. Students are able to connect to the characters and have great discussions. Having engaging texts in the classroom fosters the love of reading. The main character in this story walks in the same shoes that many of our middle school students do today. Does is able to come to terms and overcome the obstacles he faces. His path of self discovery takes him on a journey to find his inner artist. An invaluable mentor, his science teacher, and a good friend, Lil Spicer, also help him along the way. This resource will help students this year and for many years to come! By donating to this project you will help every student have a book in their hand as we dive into this book together. When students have their own novel, doing a novel study is a great experience for the whole class!
