This project will make a huge difference in my classroom by providing important seating to make rotating through centers both easy and comfortable. Our class currently only has large plastic chairs, and not enough for both my co-teacher and I to have students come to our center tables without moving big bulky chairs. These stools, saucer chair, and lap desks will fill this need and make our classroom transitions easier and less time consuming. My inclusion classroom has students with many needs, and specialty flexible seating may give some students a boost of motivation to complete and do their best on their classwork, while feeling comfortable and safe in our classroom. These flexible seating options will be used in centers, as an incentive for our student of the week, and also provide special seats for some students who may be able to work better in an alternate seating setting within our class.
