Our school's mission is to cultivate students' STEAM skills to enhance their motivation to excel in academics, leadership, and citizenship. To promote the school and our mission to our community, we hold an annual Community STEAM Night. In addition to our staff, local universities, community organizations, and government agencies provide interactive activities for the families that attend. Our Community STEAM Night is growing, attracting over 400 students and their families last year, but needs new activities to stimulate and inform the increasing crowds. An large chess set and dice will be popular and educational additions for this event. Beyond STEAM, the chess set will be used in classrooms to teach higher-order critical thinking. The dice will be used for lessons in probability.
