Many of the young women I teach are new parents making immense sacrifices to pursue an education and improve the well-being of their young families. Others are major contributors to their family's income, often providing the support and resources of a parent in their own single-parent homes. My students should be considered survivors and they certainly embody resilience. They continue to disprove the stereotypes and narratives that others have written about them.

About my class
