Our class is composed of first graders who are eager to learn. Whenever we do hands-on activities they are very involved and focused on the learning task. In science we use the FOSS kit to learn about topics like solids, liquids, and gases. When they have an opportunity to use hands-on materials, they retain what they have learned. My students are working on a growth mindset where they learn to take on challenges and do their best each day. We are a title 1 school which means our student population has many economic needs. We do the best we can with our limited resources.
