The one common piece of furniture that I always remember having in all of my elementary classrooms was a classroom carpet. The carpet always served as a meeting spot for the whole class to come together to share and discuss ideas. As I think back on the memories of my elementary days, I remember one of my favorite parts of the day was when my teacher would bring us to the carpet and read a story out loud to us. Thinking back to these times, I want to give my students the same experience, and a classroom carpet would be the first step into creating a space to achieve this goal. Classroom carpets are a great piece of furniture to make the space feel welcoming and comfortable for students. Trying to sit on a hard floor while learning can make it uncomfortable for students to learn. Providing a spot where students can learn beyond their desks is helpful, and provides versatile seating options for students.
