My students are first and second grade Scientists ready to make new discoveries and innovations! They are smart, talented and excited to learn. They include students with disabilities. Our school has a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. I want to provide them with opportunities to improve their circumstances and develop in STEM. We are a part of one of the largest urban districts in Ohio. Our school sits in the middle of dilapidated houses and crime infested neighborhoods. In addition to their other struggles, the students often come to school with less background knowledge and fewer family supports. It is my desire to take them to another world~ a world where they discover and learn beyond their imaginations and everyone else's expectations! Nelson Mandela said "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
