My fifty students have the unique opportunity to work in a dual immersion program. These bouncy six year old children are broken into two groups of 25 students. One day they are with another teacher, and are taught in Spanish all day. The next day the group that had Spanish comes to me for English, while the group I taught goes to the Spanish classroom. They have a lot on their plates; learning in two different languages; but they do it with a level of determination that surprises me daily. I see future world leaders in my classroom. While their tenacity is contagious, our classroom and school are not without challenges. The majority of the school is on free or reduced lunch. We are a Title 1 school with lots to offer the community. We are bursting at the seams with over 800 students flooding our doors and hearts each day.
