Listening skills are an important part of learning communication skills. It is necessary for my students to have exposure to a variety literacy techniques. The Listening Station gives our Kindergarteners an opportunity to listen to examples of fluent readers while enjoying a book and some quiet time. In addition to enhancing reading fluency and building listening skills, my students will experience an enjoyment for reading along the way. Our Kindergarteners will be learning how to read fluently by the end of the school year. Having a listening center, sets of headphones, and numerous wonderful books on CD would help to broaden my classroom listening and technology stations.
