Our students here have all been diagnosed with moderate to severe autism spectrum disorder and love to participate in physical activity. Many of our students need different motivators to help them engage in fitness. One of our motivators was walking or jogging on our exercise room treadmill. Our old treadmill has sadly stopped working and after multiple repair attempts, had to be thrown out. We decided to clear some of the old and broken equipment and re-do our exercise room with some fresh paint and a clean floor. Now we just need to replace our broken treadmill for our students to use, as many are upset they no longer have a treadmill to use. The new treadmill, a NordicTrack T 6.5 Si Treadmill World-Class Personal Training in The Comfort of Your Home, will encourage our students to get physically fit since many of the children love to use the equipment and weights in our exercise room. Students with autism are often extremely selective with their likes and dislikes. When our treadmill broke we lost a great motivation tool for our students' health and fitness needs at the school. We hope you will help our school replace our treadmill with a new one that will touch the lives of hundreds of students for years to come.
