These past two years, we have created a PS63 News Team that consists of 15 students from grades 2-5. The students are learning the ins and out of creating a news broadcast. They film the segments, conduct interviews, write stories, edit video and sound, coordinate lighting and distribute the news on a monthly basis. They are learning interview skills, film editing skills, and writing skills in a fun, student driven environment. They are also in need of equipment that will allow them to be flexible in their filming locations and fast to turn around their segment with a professional quality to them.

About my class
