While pre-k may seem like mostly fun and games, pre-k teachers actually prepare your child for a lifetime of learning. We use games and activities as tools to encourage growth in the five domains of school readiness; language development, cognition and general knowledge, social and emotional maturity, approaches to learning, and physical development. The items that I am requesting already have a place in my classroom. We just need your help in getting everything. The role play costumes will be used in our dress up station which helps develop social and emotional maturity. In pre-kindergarten, your child will spend most of the day working together with his peers for the first time. From this interaction, he will learn how to get along with others, resolve conflicts, and practice social skills, such as sharing and taking turns. The drill set puzzle kits is used to encourage fine motor skill development. The Education Insights Design and Drill ABC's and 123's , 3D Magnet Building Blocks, Melissa and Doug See & Spell along with the Melissa and Doug First Wooden Stamp Set will be used in play stations set throughout the room. These stations help develop cognitive and general knowledge by interacting with others plus contributes to language development. The toy life kids tool set, police car toys, mannequin head with hair and the Top Bright Toy race track will also be used throughout the room set up in stations. These items contribute to cognitive & general knowledge plus language development.
