My students attend a Middle School in a high poverty section of WV. There are a myriad of musical opportunities for our students near our locale, but when families are worried about covering their rent or being able to give their kids their next meal, musical experiences aren't a priority. That is why it falls on our school to musically enrich our students and give them that little escape that only music can provide. The kids work hard on their musical studies both during and after school and are constantly asking for more opportunities to learn and express themselves.
