Our classroom community has a vision for a model of teaching and learning in which all students take charge of their own learning, work with peers to identify and practice areas of weakness, and push themselves further once they have achieved mastery. In order to realize this goal, our students need daily access computer programming that will allow individualized student learning with regular, immediate feedback alongside small group discussions and investigations with teacher support. We are fundraising for a partial set of Chromebooks for 6th grade math to provide our students access to station activities, computer-based assessments, online review activities, Google Classroom projects, and interactive, digital, and individualized math content. Computer based programs already utilized at our school, such as the research-based ST Math, will give our students the chance to access grade level content and supporting standards independently and at their own pace. Please help us as teachers undergo this incredible professional learning opportunity, and help our students access the technology and opportunities they deserve!
