My students come to physics and chemistry with a sense of dread, knowing that these subjects are known to be challenging. These materials will help my students engage with the curriculum in a new and interactive way. Many of my students struggle with conceptualizing the concepts they cannot see (which is much of chemistry), but I'm hoping that drawing, diagraming, coloring, and modeling the concepts with these supplies will engage students who wouldn't otherwise be interested in science! The colored pencils and markers will be used during class - since many of my students aren't able to provide their own. The index cards and beads will be used for modeling activities in class to model things like atoms and electrons!
