My students are members of the Peer Initiative - Leaders of Tomorrow (PILOT) program. This program was started in 2015 after our school suffered four student deaths in a nine-month period (two due to suicide). The purpose of our program is suicide prevention by attacking the contributing causes of suicide--bullying, harassment, depression, grief, anxiety, etc. PILOT students have helped improve the climate of our school so that now ALL students know that they are welcome and always have a place to go if they need support.
