As an art teacher, I teach creative thinking, critical thinking, and problem-solving. All of these skills combined help the development of a young person's brain, as they work that muscle. This STEAM project is for the students who are learning in person at this time. Since we have small groups this year, it is the perfect end-of-the-year project to keep my kids going and engaged until the very last school day. The school year has been long, spending more time than usual in front of the laptop. I want this project to excite kids to close their laptops and to create! Using the ideas of STEAM education, I want my students to bring to life their 2d drawings into 3D doodles. In a world where creativity and innovation are happening full speed ahead in business around the world, our children must begin to be taught to think critically and creatively, in order to be the next future leaders and innovators. I hope this STEAM art project will inspire my current students to consider becoming future creators and world-changers.
