Having the sports equipment necessary to play group games, cones, basketballs, badminton, jump ropes, and softballs, is essential for students to participate and learn from one another. Physical activity is important to all students' learning and development. Physical education helps build communication skills, emotional skills, and teamwork within the classroom. Students will be using this equipment to learn and practice fundamental motor skills such as throwing, catching, kicking, dribbling, and striking. They will also learn concepts such as under, over, through, and having the opportunity to be able to create their own games. This equipment will provide the students the opportunity to gain cognitive knowledge, practice various strategies, participate in team building and cooperative activities, and have exposure to cultural games and activities they may otherwise not experience. When students learn how to communicate with one another through play, they are more successful in the classroom and in life. Students learn how to problem solve and communicate. This leads to a stronger classroom community as well as being physically fit.
