I teach 24 enthusiastic third-grade students of varying levels at a moderately-poor school in Florida. Parents have been donating generously to the school but lately, the economic crisis has hit us all. As children of the 21st century, my students are very technology-wise and respond better when technology is integrated into the lesson. We have been very fortunate to have an Interactive White Board in the classroom which I use every day. The students are more excited about their learning when we use the IWB especially when they can interact with it. But this isn’t always possible. One way to get more students interacting simultaneously with the IWB would be through IWB math and science software which they can utilize during center time on a rotation basis. Unfortunately, as a first year teacher, I currently do not have any such software.
