My students come from many diverse backgrounds (Hispanic, African American, Hmong, and Caucasian students). All of my students have a passion for reading. Another aspect that most of my students have in common, unfortunately, is poverty. Parents find it challenging to purchase reading materials for their children to use at home. We are a smaller suburban school in Minnesota, housed within an urban setting.
