The use of an interactive television in a Kindergarten classroom has many advantages that will enhance the students learning. With the ability to be used with other devices such as a document camera, it will allow the students to be able to be more engaged in their learning. The screen size itself is a benefit for those students that sit toward the back of the room. Font sizes, whole group work and interactive worksheets will allow them to see clearly and focus on their lessons more. Students will also be able to use it as an interactive white board. One of their favorite things to do is to engage in activities on the whiteboard for their classmates to see them working together and be the "tiny teacher".
Kindergartners learn best when they are actively engaged in their learning. I love to teach at their level and know how they learn best. This, in my experience would bring their love of education to another level. I want my students to be excited about learning and focus on doing their best. An interactive television that serves as an interactive board does just that. They are able to do all the things they love in learning such as reading stories, math problems, art projects, and games, to name a few. I would be able to differentiate my groups and instruction with this to keep them engaged and excited about their lessons.
