Our students come from extremely diverse backgrounds, representing over 60 countries from nearly every continent. While the most common languages spoken at home by our students are English and Spanish, the *third* most common language is Chin, a Southeast Asian language spoken in Burma/Myanmar, India, and Bangladesh. We embrace true diversity at Independence High School--for example, some of our students have lived in our area so long that their parents are alumni of our school, while others have immigrated to the US within the last few years. Our Theatre and Dance programs provide opportunities for students to connect across cultural and socio-economic barriers, and to develop critically important social and language skills. We welcome students with and without prior experience in Theatre and Dance, and seek to build a collaborative environment where every student can grow their confidence and skills. 🩷💚💛🎭🩰
