My students have not had the opportunity to write in notebooks with a pencil in over a year. It has been amazing seeing their progress so far, but we are going through materials quickly! Part of being an amazing writer is treating our materials with respect and our students do a fantastic job at this. Our school provides some of the resources that we need, but having a supply of organizational materials and pencil sharpeners/pencils will help encourage students to write as much as they can. I tell my students that we write because we have a story to tell. Funding this project, to me, allows others to be involved in those beautiful stories we will tell from Room 14.
