Coding has been part of my technology curriculum for the past several years. My students in grades 1 - 6 are always curious and interested in learning how to code in the Computer Lab. Without a doubt, my student will benefit from the hands-on activities that will enable them to the results of their coding. The micro:bit is a pocket-sized computer that introduces students to how software and hardware work together. It has an LED light display, buttons, sensors and many input/output features that, when programmed, let it interact with you and your world. My students will gain coding skills when they use the micro:bit, to learn computer coding with Scratch, Microsoft MakeCode, Python, Swift Playgrounds, and other programming languages. With practice, my students will become confident coders and build fun projects to show their classmates, their families, and the world.
