We are a classroom family of 25! I teach 25 lively first grade students from diverse cultural backgrounds in a dual language program of English native speakers and Latino students whose first language is Spanish. My school is part of Houston's public school district. I teach Language Arts and Mathematics as well as Social Studies in Spanish. Science is taught in English. The inspiring energy of my classroom is contagious. We love to read, act out stories, sing, play math games, write about the books we discuss and use our inquiry skills as much as possible. Learning in two languages is a magnificent window into the cultural richness of the world!
