I am the sole 8th grade English and Spanish teacher at our K-8 school. At Don Callejon we have an extremely diverse population, making our classroom community uniquely beautiful. My English curriculum centers around Social Justice, and so much of the writing, discussion and projects helps to empower and grow the future leaders and activists of our community. In my Spanish class we learn to love a language that opens the doors to cultural awareness and understanding of others. We sing, we dance, we read, we write, we speak, all in a new language.
