I teach 40 of the youngest "Busy Bees" in Summerville, SC. The at-risk 4 year old students in my two half day classes are selected through a comprehensive concept, motor, and language screening, along with background information collected from families. These children typically come from low-income households that do not have resources to promote academic success. For these families, this "preschool" year is a critical building block to students' kindergarten success!
