In Pre-K, students minds are constantly going. It's very hard for them to focus on one thing at a time. It's normal, but as their teacher, it is my job to try and help them stay engaged and focused as much as I can to maximize their learning. Sensory play is a great way to keep students engaged. Sensory play allows students to feel, see, and use their other senses while learning. Also, they end up having so much fun, that their learning is disguised. I have chose a light table with manipulatives for my students because the light will catch their attention and they will be ready to jump right into their practice activities. My students will be able to practice reading, writing, math and science all on this one tool. It will create a calming environment when the classroom lights are off. This will be a perfect addition to my classroom.
