I am have the privilege of teaching 23 amazing students with a variety of disabilities in a self-contained class. I am a special education teacher who teaches math and science to grades 5 to 8. I teach math and science in a self-contained setting. My students are funny, very talented, and each one has their own distinct personality. Many of my students have been experienced a lot in their young lives but they continue to persevere and have hope. For many of my students, school is a safe place and represents a brighter future. My students have variety of disabilities ranging from autism, intellectual disability, attention deficit, to specific learning disabilities, this is in addition to being impacted by social and economic challenges such as poverty, drugs, death of parents, being ab They have so many gifts despite their struggles. They are great artists, singers, teachers, and technology savvy.
