My creative and thoughtful second-grade students are feverishly developing a love for reading, writing, and math. They greet me every morning with boundless enthusiasm. Often a child will pull a book from their bag and exclaim, "Look what I read last night! Let me show you my favorite part!" I teach at a Title l school in Brooklyn, NY where students hail from all around the world - from Mexico to Uzbekistan. We may come from different cultures, but we all work together in the classroom to extend and promote all of our learning.
