The requested materials are to help my students put on their very first school dance. The theme of the dance will be the Roaring 20's, which ties into The Great Gatsby unit that is being taught at the start of semester two. My students' vision for the dance is based on the parties from The Great Gatsby movie (2013), and is very ambitious to say the least. They want to capture all of the glitz and glamour of an authentic 1920's party, and will used the requested items to do the following: the fairy curtain lights and pearl bead garland rope will be strung from the ceiling to create a canopy of lights; the gold, white, and black party decoration balloons will be used to decorate the walls and ceiling; the Micent 2 Pieces Curling Ribbons will be used for the balloons, tables, and entrance; the Roaring 1920's Party Photo Booth Props will be used for the photo booth; the 12pcs Men’s Pre-tied Adjustable Formal Bow Ties will be distributed to students who do not have ties. By donating to our project, you will be giving my students memories that will last a lifetime. Most of my students have never attended a dance before, so we are trying to make this special. As a small charter school in an economically challenged area, we can afford to put on only a few events for our students throughout the year, and unfortunately dances are not within our budget. Your donation will help give my students one of their most requested events, and do it in a way that is safe, fun and educational (students will also be able to use their participation in the dance as part of their research into the 1920's).
