Our middle school students attend our math, science and technology magnet on a long marginalized, inner city campus. Intellectually motivated and curious, our students are eager learners who thrive academically despite our crowded school environment and a high poverty community. Our students are primarily from low-income households and are particularly grateful for the opportunity to participate in our magnet school programs and multimedia enriched learning spaces in their core subject areas. Our magnet program is relatively young, having been launched less than ten years ago. Due to the ongoing academic success of our students and positive relationships with the families in our community, our magnet program maintains a waiting list of potential students. Many of our former students have continued on to prestigious magnet high schools in our district, and proudly to major colleges and universities in our state and beyond.
