There are a limited amount of graphic novels currently in my class library and few in our school library. I want to add more graphic novels to our class library so that my students have easy access to books they will love. My students crave reading they can be excited about. Graphic novels are that reading. While they are engaging for all readers, they tend to be especially appealing to reluctant readers. In addition, graphic novels are legitimately complex texts that sneak literacy skills into a fun format. If I can expand my graphic novel collection, I can increase the number of students in my class who consider themselves readers.
