The supplies requested are to help set up the classroom to be welcoming and inspirational, a place where learning can be successful. Requested are posters to help inspire, basic classroom needs like a hole puncher and pencil sharpener, as well as supplies that students will struggle to learn without, such as pencils, pens, highlighters, etc. I am not a fancy person and I'm just trying to make sure we've got the bases covered so that when class begins, the room looks welcoming and the students feel good about being in the space. They won't have to feel panicked about coming to class and forgetting something like a pencil. I'll have their back. It's the small things that make a difference and this is the start of a new year full of positive growth for my students.
