My students are finishing up their unit of reading "Stamped: Racism, Anti-Racism, and You." They have really had some enlightening conversations around race as it pertains to the Black/White divide in the US. Next, we are going to read "Number the Stars" and learn about the Danish resistance during the Holocaust. The main question in this unit is why do some people go out of their way to help, while others do nothing? My classes are completely remote/online but we have strong participation and good attendance! This book will round out our social justice theme for the year.
