The supplies that are donated will be used to continue an ongoing service learning initiative in our middle school. Through ongoing work with a local school climate organization, it was found that a subset of students was not connected to school. Students will take one fork, knife and spoon and roll them in a napkin. Students will use ribbon to hold the bundle together and place it into a box to be delivered to Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK). We found that students involved in service learning projects are more connected to each other as well as staff and our school. Our main problem now is that we lack funding and supplies to continue to provide meaningful service projects to our students. Being funded on Donors Choose would mean we can continue to implement service learning projects. Thank you.
