My third graders are curious students who enjoy discovery. They eagerly climb into nonfiction books to grow and learn. In today's technological society, children need to be able to proficiently use keyboarding skills to safely explore the information available on the internet as well as create presentations to share their new knowledge. My district is currently implementing the Common Core State Standards, where rigorous Standards are research and evidence based and essential for college and career readiness in the twenty-first century. Allowing students frequent opportunities to access Chromebooks will require students to comprehend, analyze, and compare/contrast information as they develop a strong depth of knowledge.
