Kids are not meant to sit in one spot all day long...none of us are! When I work, I want to be comfortable and not always at a desk. These new pillows and seats will provide students with a different option besides a hard stool or chair. Research shows that students need outlets for moving and fidgeting during the school day, and alternative seating helps provide this. Alternative seating also helps contribute to increased engagement and motivation, an increased sense of community in the classroom, and better behavior. Few students get excited over desks and hard chairs! I want my students to feel comfortable and happy with soft chairs and comfy cushions to sit on. The benefits of flexible seating are endless! I cannot wait to see the smiles on their faces when they have more choices of comfortable seating in their home away from home (our classroom)!
